Charity

Idea Studio has a Charity Knit Night the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 6-8pm. Join us for an evening of conversation, snacks, and fun while making 8" by 8" squares for our charity afghans. We have a supply of donated yarn that is available to all volunteers wishing to make blanket squares, sweaters, mittens, hats, or scarves. If you provide the squares, the staff at Idea will do all the assembly, finishing, and distribution.

Over the past 8 years, we have donated about 75 blankets to LaGrange women's and children's shelters, the BEDS program, hospices, hospitals, and homeless shelters. In addition, we have donated scarves, hats, mittens, and sweaters to Snug Hugs for Kids. We also participate in the Red Scarf project, providing handmade care packages for college students without parents.

If you know of an organization in need of donations, please let us know and we will send them our next group of donated items. We are also currently seeking yarn donations so that we may continue to provide yarn to volunteers free of charge. Washable fibers (including any old acrylic yarns) are perfect for our afghans, but we will accept any type or quantity. In particular, we are looking for any cotton yarns to be used for making baby blankets and hats.

Thanks you to all of the people who have donated supplies, time, and expertise! We sought to make a difference in our community, and with your help we know we have!
